Ann Fleming
Co Trainer CDI, intern LTI
Ann Fleming serves the CDI’s in Milwaukee and Northern Indiana. She’s also an intern for the Leadership Training Institute. She attends Christ’s Episcopal Church in Castle Rock, Colorado, where she serves on vestry for Congregational Development. Ann has a degree in Psychology, and works at the Rose Medical Center in Denver where she analyzes sleep studies in their clinical Sleep Disorders Center.
Gary Manning
Co Trainer CDI, intern LTI
The Reverend Gary B. Manning presently serves as the Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. For the past three years, he has been a trainer for the Church Development Institute in the diocese of Milwaukee. Gary has served the Diocese as a member the Executive Committee, the Commission on Mission and Development and frequently serves as consultant to parishes.
Jan Merkt
Co Trainer CDI, intern LTI
Jan Merkt was trained in CDI in the Diocese of Miwaukee and is currently working as a co-trainer in the Diocese of Northern Indiana and an intern for the Leadership Training Institute. She is active in her parish, St. Matthews, Kenosha, WI and has served on the vestry, Finance Committee and as Senior Warden. She is currently the administrator of an ophthalmology/optometry practice in Northern Illinois.
Susan Adam
Senior Trainer CDI & LTI
Susan Adam is a senior trainer in the Church Development Institute and the Leadership Training Institute and has been part of the Diocesan programs in Milwaukee, Colorado, as well as the National Program. She is also a Congregational Consultant for her home Diocese in Maine. A professional artist for over 25 years, she and her husband Joshua own a gallery in Castine Maine.
Lou Blanchard
Senior Trainer CDI, intern LTI
Lou Blanchard is Canon Missioner in charge of Congregational Development for the Diocese of Colorado, which includes visiting the 107 congregations on Sundays, leading retreats and workshops and working with congregations to help them become healthy, and mission shaped. Currently she is the coordinator for the Colorado CDI.
Michelle Heyne
CDI Co trainer and LTI intern
Michelle serves as part of the training team with the Diocese of Washington and national CDI’s. She is the chief compliance officer for a Seattle based company and has extensive experience with financial management, interpersonal communications and team dynamics, and developing and implementing organizational change initiatives. She has non-profit experience in the areas of team building, strategic planning, and conflict management. She is a member of Trinity Parish, Seattle and a Companion of the Order of the Ascension.
Patricia Downing
Senior Trainer CDI, intern LTI
Patty Downing is currently serving Trinity Parish in Wilmington Delaware. Before that she served for 14 years in the Diocese of Washington. It was in the diocese of Washington the she was introduced to CDI. She took the course and found it invaluable to her work as a parish priest. She was so taken with the course that she took it a second time. She was hooked. She became a trainer and has been a lead trainer in the diocesan program in Washington.
Scott A. Benhase
Senior Trainer CDI
Scott Benhase is the rector of Saint Alban's Church, Washington, D.C. Scott has served on the staff of the CDI in Southwest Virginia and is currently a trainer in the Church Development Institute now being offered in the Diocese of Washington (DC). Scott has lead several congregations through major transitions. He is a member of the Order of the Ascension. Scott is currently Bishop-elect for the Diocese of Georgia and will be consecrated as Diocesan Bishop on January 23, 2010
Stephanie Gadzik

Stephanie Gadzik is a CDI trainer with the Diocese of Milwaukee, training since 2006. Stephanie is passionate about effective congregational development and helping others discover tools that find and use group energy. Stephanie is a proud stay-at-home mother with a background in public relations, sales and marketing, and non-profit communications.
Anita Sanborn

Anita Sanborn is the President of the Colorado Episcopal Foundation and a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Centennial, CO. She holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and has spent her career in the not-for-profit sector with expertise in the areas of health care, fund-raising and lately in stewardship and philanthropy.
Susan Latimer

Susan Latimer is Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Charleston, West Virginia. She is a co-trainer with the church development institute as well as LTI and uses contemplative practices in her life and ministry. She is intrigued with the connections between spirit, body and mind.
SuzeAnne Silla
Senior Trainer CDI
Suze Anne Silla A former Corporate Banker and Stockbroker, now ordained 25 years, SuzeAnne has served as Canon to the Ordinary in 3 Diocese over the past 18 years. She received her initial CDI training in 1994 and since that time has combined her corporate training and experience and her CDI training and experience to address both Diocesan and Parish Development. She is currently the Lead Trainer in Northern Indiana’s Diocesan CDI.
Bob Gallagher

Bob Gallagher is the founder of the Church Development Institute program and the director of the Seattle CDI. With over 30 years of consultant experience, he has also served as the vicar of several urban parishes and as the Congregational Development Officer in the Diocese of Connecticut. He has conducted CDI's in several dioceses. And is a trainer with the Leadership Training Institute.
Bevan Stanley
Senior Trainer CDI
Bevan Stanley - Since 1984 Bevan has been a successful practitioner of parish development in parishes as Vicar and Rector, and since 1986 he has been training and consulting in congregations of all sizes from family to corporate. He has been Trainer of the Parish Development Course (what evolved into CDI) for ten years in Diocese of Connecticut and Trainer for CDI programs in the dioceses of Western Massachusetts and Newark. Bevan has consulted in parish development, stewardship, evangelism, conflict, planning, Vestry team development, parish discernment, and clergy coaching. He is particularly interested in issues of leadership, systems theory, changing organizational culture, and managing conflict. Bevan also has over 20 years experience as a spiritual director and retreat leader. He has been trained by the Industrial Areas Foundation in community organizing.
Peggy Worzalla

Peggy Worzalla is the Bishop's Assistant for Congregational Development in the Diocese of Milwaukee. She has worked in the Diocese for over 10 years with the goal of forming and sustaining healthy congregations by strengthening lay and clergy leadership. Peggy also serves on the National Fresh Start faculty and sees this as a great way to build clergy skills and relationships as well as the congregation's. Together with CDI and Fresh Start our congregations are better equipped to engage the communities they live in and serve. She is the coordinator of the Milwaukee CDI.
Brion Cook
Senior Trainer CDI
Brion Cook has been part of the training team in CDI-Washington. He served as Warden of St. James Parish, Capital Hill. Brion has also served as a consultant to Federal and state governments on environmental policy and scientific issues.
Steven Miller
Senior Trainer CDI
Steven is the 11th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee, a position he has held since 2003. A founding member of CDI trainers, Bishop Miller has led the diocese to embrace this educational opportunity. Prior to his election and consecration, he served churches in Missouri and Virginia and at the diocesan level as a regional dean, congregational development consultant, and chair of several diocesan commissions.
Rebecca Debow

Rebecca DeBow has served as Associate Rector for Formation at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, Birmingham, Alabama, since 2006. Previously, she was rector of Saint Francis of Assisi, Indian Springs, Alabama for ten years. She earned a Master of Divinity at the Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. She has been a trainer with the National CDI in Seattle. Rebecca is a senior trainer with LTI (Leadership Training Institute).
Richard Downing

Dickie Downing was a parish priest for thirty-nine years and believes that the CDI and its insights along with its methodology can transform the life of congregations. In particular the disciplines of planning and reflecting upon out comes, the constant quest for learning and improvement. Not to mention the constant interchange with Bob Gallagher and the camaraderie with the other CDI trainers. He is now retired and lives with his dear wife Patty in Wilmington, Delaware.
Doug Wigner
Senior Trainer CDI
Doug has served on the CDI-NYC staff and as a revitalization consultant. His work as a consultant focused on guiding the rector and vestry or committee through a diocesan process of reflection and goal setting and conflict resolution. Doug has also led conflict management workshops for wardens and diocesan councils. He is the Rector Emeritus of St. Paul's, Lynchburg, VA in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia.
